UNICO Insurance Group along with our partners Allied Insurance and Tara Plaza Association are proud to present a FREE interactive community outreach program designed for teens and adults. The program teaches teens and adults how to be safe on the road.

A fun, interactive experience “TIME2Drive” is designed to be hands-on. Participants will get to try on Fatal Vision Goggles that reinforce the dangers of impaired driving. Plus, they’ll have the chance to get behind the wheel of a driving simulator that shows just how dangerous distractive driving can be. Mayor Black said, “This program provides another vivid and interactive way to help people understand the hazard.”Both the fatal vision goggles and the simulator share a powerful message that the audience will benefit from.

Linda Simpleman from UNICO Insurance Group said, “We are truly excited to see what kind of impact this event will have on our community.”

The program is structured around audience participation and activities designed to enhance the learning experience. The program is devoted to the dangers of impaired driving. More than half of accidents are due to impaired driving; this includes texting, cell phone use, alcohol and drugs. Mayor Black said, “Distracted driving is a serious public safety hazard. We go to great lengths to try and inform young people of the dangers involved with driving while distracted.”
