If it seems like every time you turn on the radio or read the newspaper there’s a new “top 10” list featuring Lincoln, it’s not a figment of your imagination.  Lincoln’s local, regional, and national accolades continue to roll in from publications ranging from Forbes magazine to Yahoo finance, Livability.com and beyond.

Our latest ranking comes from one of the leading “tech sector” job placement sites. Dice.com says Nebraska is the 3rd fastest growing tech sector job market in the country and according to their data, hi-tech jobs grew by five-percent in the first six-months of this year.  A 24-year-old website based in Santa Clara, CA, Dice is a leading site for technology job postings. This is the fourth year Dice has put out the list. It culls its information from Bureau of Labor Statistics data that covers hiring in the fields of computer systems design and related services over the last six months, ranking states according to employment growth rate percentages.

The news should come as no surprise.

In addition to the large number of tech and business startups taking root every day, rising star Hudl broke ground last month on a new headquarters building that has the potential to keep them in Lincoln for years to come.

When asked “Why Lincoln?” – Hudl founders say it has everything to do with the path our community is on today.

“What we’re most excited about in moving to the West Haymarket is how much it’s grown in just the last couple of years. We host job candidates from every corner of the country, and all leave Lincoln with a new appreciation for the Midwest. Likewise, university graduates who have moved away several years ago are amazed by all of the progress in this area.” – David Graff, Hudl CEO

I couldn’t agree more. We need to celebrate the success of home-grown businesses who are hard at work growing the jobs of tomorrow. The rest of the world is starting to take notice.
