TCW Construction Inc. is a family owned business derived from Tony’s Cement Works Inc. which started business in the early 70’s as a patio, sidewalk and driveway construction company. My father Lorenzo (Tony) Delgado started that company with a pick-up, wheel barrow, sledgehammer and of course concrete finishing tools. My brothers Scott , Ryan and I acquired Tony’s Cement Works Inc. in 1998 and therefore created TCW Construction Inc., and this company continues to follow the same ethical construction practices our father has taught us. The company also continues to produce the same types of work only in a slightly larger dimension.
For instance, TCW performs all types of concrete work such as footings, finish floors, structural concrete and slipform paving of concrete roadways of widths up to 33 feet wide. To help facilitate the placement of mass concrete for roadway paving TCW created Husker Ready Mixed Concrete in 1998, and this has helped foster our competitive abilities in all avenues of the concrete industry. TCW and Husker have completed numerous projects together which required the construction of footings, finish floors, and paving. TCW is currently planning to begin construction on Major Roadway Project Old Cheney Rd. from 70th Street to 82nd Street.
Also in 1998, TCW joined forces with the Butler Building Group and diversified into the pre-engineered metal building arena. Looking back, this was a very aggressive move on our part that has become a very nice addition which has enhanced our diversity. Growth has been steady in this department due to the products Butler can offer and enhances our design build capabilities for our clients. Our projects range from 2,500 sf shop to a 200,000+ sf warehouse facility. TCW with Butler can also offer two long-term solutions to whatever roof problems are compromising your structures–The Metal-Over-Metal system and Slope Build-up Re-Roof System. TCW has received numerous High Performance Builder awards from Butler Manufacturing and the prestigious Million Dollar Builder Award in 2012.
Another division of TCW is concrete crushing. It began with the demolition of Harris Overpass and has been very beneficial for TCW and Husker by way of disposing our removal concrete and returned concrete into a new green product of crushed concrete rock material. Several local construction companies also bring us their removal concrete and we crush it into a reusable product, which drastically reduces the amount of space it would require at the landfill. A good share of this product is used as roadway base for new concrete roadway pavement projects, pipe bedding for utility construction and an assortment of other construction oriented requirements.
TCW Construction just recently completed the Hamburg Levee Ditch Repair in Hamburg, IA for United States Army Corps of Engineers. The work consisted of moving 10,000 cy of random fill for levee repair, construction of 80 lf of 48” rcp pipe, repair of highway structure sill, 82 ac of seeding, and 2,000 tons levee surfacing for damaged levee outside of Hamburg IA from the flooding in 2011.
In summary, TCW Construction, Husker Ready Mixed Concrete, and the addition of Butler Buildings has created a good mix for us. With the addition of concrete crushing capabilities we have created a complete turnkey operation that allows us to compete in several different market areas in Lincoln and throughout Nebraska.
