sadoff iron and metal company lincoln nebraskaSadoff Iron & Metal Company sees treasure in what some would consider trash. In fact, scrap metal is quite valuable, and recycling it properly is not only profitable for businesses, it’s the right thing to do. That philosophy—doing the right thing to help the environment—has been proven so successful that Sadoff Iron & Metal will be moving its Lincoln scrap yard to a new, state-of-the-art recycling facility this November.

The new location, at 4400 West Webster Street, is just one mile from the company’s current Airpark site. So, why the change?

“The new recycling center has advantages that benefit our customers,” said Steve Napoleone, Sadoff Iron & Metal’s Regional Manager. “The 13 acres provides plenty of room, and it has concrete roads for smooth, easy access. Plus, it has new processing capabilities. We added a mobile Sierra Shear and a Sierra Nonferrous Baler,” he added.

The new facility also has cutting-edge environmental controls for stormwater, a feature that mirrors the company’s commitment to sustainability. “Down To Earth” recycling is how Sadoff Iron & Metal refers to it. “In short, it’s an entire value system based on combining our easy-going customer focus with our environmental responsibility,” said Napoleone.

Open to the public, Sadoff Iron & Metal buys a variety of recyclable materials (list available at www.sadoff.com) from walk-in individuals and commercial businesses, as well as large industrial manufacturers. The scrap is processed and sold to foundries, steel mills, and nonferrous smelters throughout the region.

Sadoff Iron & Metal has been a recycling fixture of the Lincoln community since 1999. And, they’re excited about establishing even deeper roots in the area with the new recycling center.  In addition to offering comprehensive recycling services at the new facility, Sadoff Iron & Metal brings creative thinking and innovative ideas directly to area businesses. Recycling process programs, like the CO+Efficient program, are customized to streamline the way customers recycle metal scrap.

“We send a Sadoff Iron & Metal consultant to review an operation and recommend ways to maximize efficiency. The ultimate goal is to increase that company’s recycling profitability,” Napoleone said. Steps could include suggesting internal processes changes, providing industrial-size containers, and scheduling regular pickups by Sadoff Iron & Metal.

Scales at the new Lincoln facility at 4400 West Webster Street are ready to accept scrap Monday to Friday, from 7:30 to 4:30 (closed from 12:00 to 12:30).
