Natural gas service provider Black Hills Energy has named Cheryl Brandenburgh Nebraska economic development manager. She replaced Mary Simmons who recently retired after 13 years of service with the company.

Brandenburgh will lead the company’s economic development effort in Nebraska to identify and attract new businesses to Black Hills’ Nebraska service area and promote and assist existing business expansion. She’ll also work with Nebraska communities where Black Hills provides natural gas service to develop strategic plans and facilitate implementation of economic development programs.
Prior to Black Hills, Brandenburgh worked for the State of Nebraska Department of Economic Development where she was first business recruitment manager and then site selection manager. Before that, she was economic development manager for the Norfolk Chamber of Commerce and senior marketing coordinator for Vishay in Columbus, Neb., and Norfolk, Neb.
