The completion of construction and remodeling at World’s Foremost Bank was celebrated with a May 7 ribbon-cutting ceremony that featured Governor Dave Heineman, Lincoln Mayor Chris Beutler and Tommy Millner, Cabela’s chief executive officer.

The ceremony, to begin at 3 p.m. at the World’s Foremost Bank (WFB) facility at 4800 NW 1st Street, will celebrate completion of a 40,000-square-foot addition and the remodeling of the original 76,000-square-foot structure, improvements made necessary by the continued growth of the operation.

WFB, a wholly owned subsidiary of Cabela’s, was chartered in 2001 to issue and manage the Cabela’s CLUB Visa credit card, a rewards-based credit card program. At that time, WFB employed a staff of 80 and value of the credit-card portfolio was approximately $300 million. Today, the portfolio has grown to more than $3 billion and the staff to 430. WFB officials believe continued growth will lead to the hiring of an additional 340 employees over the next five years.  Cabela’s Incorporated, headquartered in Sidney, Nebraska, is a leading specialty retailer, and the world’s largest direct marketer, of hunting, fishing, camping and related outdoor merchandise.
