The Eclipse is Coming: Go Dark in the Park

A historic event is happening on August 21, 2017 that will put Lincoln, NE at the heart of a once in a lifetime experience. The 2017 Solar Eclipse will be the first visible from the United States since July 1991. Millions of visitors from all over the world will be coming to the US to watch this experience and take part in events, right here in the Capital City. Lincoln, which sits on the northern edge of the eclipse, will experience one minute, 24 seconds of totality and is only 43 miles to the north of the center of activity as it traverses our great state.

A viewing event will be held at Haymarket Park, and the Lincoln Saltdogs are offering a special “Black out Bundle” for eclipse watchers. Gates open at 11 a.m. Come early for the Science and Engineering Expo and visit a variety of fascinating exhibits in the promenade. Individual game tickets start at $6/$5 with UNL student ID.
