Francie & Finch Celebrates 1st Anniversary

The Lincoln Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Francie & Finch Bookshop (www.francieandfinch.com) on August 24th, celebrating one year since the formation of the business. Attendees of the open house were entertained by a solo cello performance by Korynne Bolt followed by Jewel in the Lotus Dance Company. Champagne punch and almond vanilla cake were served. The cake was made by the Rabbit Hole Bakery who re-created a drawing of the historic Telephone Building in downtown Lincoln, the main floor of which is home to Francie & Finch.

F&F is an independent bookstore that sells new books of all kinds including the arts and music, history and non-fiction and plain old good stories by great writers. There is a dedicated children’s section, local art and a selection of vinyl albums.

Regular events include the First Friday Art Walk and the Lincoln Journal Club.

The next book signing will be held Tuesday, October 17, 6:30-7:30 p.m. with Melissa Fraterrigo, author of “Glory Days.” Her novel combines gritty realism with magical elements to paint an arrestingly stark portrait of the painful transitions of 21st century, small-town America. In a recent Booklist review, Carol Haggas wrote, “If Willa Cather and Cormac McCarthy had a love child, she would be a writer such as Fraterrigo.”

More information on upcoming events can be found at www.francieandfinch.com and on Facebook.
