Gateway Senior Living, a dual licensed elder care campus owned by Nye Senior Services, broke ground for a $14-million phase-one expansion project at 225 N. 56th Street, where it has continuously provided senior living and senior healthcare options for Lincoln-area seniors since December 1963. More than 100 members of the community looked on as city and state officials assisted with the launch of this project, which is being supported and facilitated by the City of Lincoln. The groundbreaking celebration took place outdoors at the Gateway Senior Living campus on the morning of Thursday, September 27th and a ribbon cutting by the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce was also held.

The phase one project will include renovation of the existing six-story tower, including the addition of creative new senior services, such as a state-of-the-art senior rehabilitation gym, clubhouse/pub, private dining venue, larger central kitchen, and meditation room. The existing tower houses 54 senior living apartments for active seniors and those who need some level of assistance.
