HDR Architecture, Inc., first established as a Nebraska corporation in 1930, is expanding its services to communities across the State of Nebraska with a new Lincoln office in the Cornhusker Plaza at 301 S. 13th Street.   The practice is being led by Trenton Reed, project principal and a Lincoln native.  The organization, now sharing space with HDR Engineering, Inc., officially opened its doors on November 28, 2011.

HDR Architecture – Lincoln will focus on serving the architecture consulting, planning and design needs of Nebraska communities and institutions through “proactive awareness of what is happening throughout the state and where HDR can provide valuable assistance,” according to Reed. The firm specializes in healthcare, civic and justice, higher education, and science and technology projects of all sizes, and aims for 10% growth in its Nebraska operations over the next decade.

According to Reed, several HDR Architecture employees reside in Lincoln and commute daily to their jobs at HDR’s headquarters in Omaha, where the parent firm was founded in 1917.  The goal is to have those employees and others work in the city in which they live, thereby reducing the company’s carbon footprint and reinforcing HDR’s commitment to Lincoln and the surrounding area.
