Legacy Retirement Communities will be hosting their next Legacy of Learning session “Understanding Your Health Options: Becoming Your Best Health Care Advocate: at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 23 at the The Legacy, 5600 Pioneers and Tuesday, July 28 at Legacy Terrace, 5700 Fremont. This session will include how to speak up and know what to ask at your next doctor’s visit. Residents of the Legacy Retirement Communities also recently attended fundraising dinners and “Animal Encounter” events in June to benefit the Lincoln Children’s Zoo. With matching funds from the Legacy Retirement Communities, they donated $5645 to support low-income scholarships for area children to attend the zoo and zoo camps and also to provide “Animal Encounters” for local nursing homes.
