Pitts, a former Lincoln police officer and Lancaster County deputy sheriff, had seriously considered a career in insurance after his long-time Shelter Agent Bob Morand encouraged him to follow in his footsteps.
Pitts left law enforcement earlier than planned, pursued his insurance education, and opened for business in November. He considered other locations, but decided to stay where Morand had served his clients for many years in Williamsburg Village.
