Sidney-based outdoor retailer Cabela’s has chosen Hampton Construction to complete a $6 million expansion project at its World’s Foremost Bank credit card facility in northwest Lincoln.  The 40,000-square-foot addition to Cabela’s existing 76,000 square-foot building will mean 400 new jobs over the next five years. Construction is set to begin in April, with completion scheduled for March 2012.

Cabela’s World’s Foremost Bank credit card operation, which opened in 2001 and employs 740 full-time and 100 seasonal workers, is located at 4800 N.W. First St. and is part of the University of Nebraska Technology Park. Customer service representatives and collections employees will move to the new space.  Other departments, such as administration, will occupy the current space.

Founded in 1948 by Joe Hampton, Hampton Enterprises is celebrating more than 60 years in business and – as Lincoln’s premier builder – has been chosen to help construct the West Haymarket Arena. The $168 million facility is slated for completion in the fall of 2013.  Hampton Construction and Hampton Realty are divisions of Hampton Enterprises, which employs more than 65 people with expertise in land development, commercial and general contracting, construction management, real estate brokerage, property management, and building maintenance.
