Help Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) and Nebraska Heart show off the Nebraska spirit by illuminating the October 8th pre-game sky with 20,000 blinking red heart lights. To kick off its “Nebraska Hearts Beat Strong” campaign, the Lincoln Nebraska heart hospital will distribute free, safety lights to football fans prior to the October 8, 2011 game. Look for the Nebraska Heart street team to hand out the blinking hearts in the Haymarket and downtown Lincoln vicinity.
The flashing red hearts are reusable and can be worn during early morning and evening, heart healthy, outdoor activities such as bicycling or running. Lincoln B&R Stores will also be distributing the flashing heart lights beginning Saturday, October 8, 2011,as well. If you are interested in picking up a free light, visit any one of the six Russ’s Market or four Super Saver stores located around the capitol city.
