Children from low-income families will get a good start to the new school year after picking up a new backpack and other items at the Center for People in Need.
Tools for Education provides a backpack and school supplies for school age children entering kindergarten through 12th grades. The event was held Saturday, July 30 and Sunday, July 31, at the Center for People in Need.

“Seeing children’s smiles as they receive their backpacks is heartwarming,” said Executive Director Beatty Brasch. “Receiving a new backpack helps give children from low-income families the feeling that they are like the other kids at school whose parents are able to take them shopping for school supplies.”

The Center for People in Need, 3901 N. 27th St., Unit 1,  provides comprehensive services and opportunities to support low-income, high needs families and individuals as they strive to lift themselves out of poverty and achieve economic self-sufficiency.
