Hampton Construction, Lincoln’s premier builder since 1948, received a 2010 Build Nebraska award from the Associated General Contractors of America, Nebraska Building Chapter, during the AGC fall conference Nov. 10 and 11 in Lincoln.

Established to recognize excellence in construction and project management, the award was given to Hampton in the $5 million to $15 million project category for construction of the Department of Veterans Affairs Regional Office in Williamsburg Village, 40th and Old Cheney St., which was dedicated in Sept.

Designed in the colonial Williamsburg Village style, the three-story, 66,000 square-foot building houses more than 270 full-time employees who process claims and administer benefits for an estimated 153,000 veterans across Nebraska.

Hampton was one of 15 construction companies vying for the first-time award.
