More than 400 guests were encouraged to “take action” at the JDRF Lincoln Chapter’s Dream Gala on Saturday, May 14th, 2011. The evening was a tremendous success, raising more than $230,000!  The organization selected the Artificial Pancreas Project (APP) to be the focus of their funding efforts for the evening.

After a very social and successful Silent Auction and Cocktail Reception, guests enjoyed an entertaining Live Auction in which an exciting bidding war occurred over a 5-day trip to Hawaii.  Other Live Auction items included a weekend golf getaway to Sutton Bay with travel via private jet, and a gourmet dinner experience for 10 at Talent Plus.  After the Live Auction, the Crook

Family was featured in the Fund A Cure video sharing how type 1 diabetes affects them.  Alex Crook, 16, was diagnosed at the age of 7.

Brenda Semin chaired the Dream Gala Steering Committee and led a phenomenal group of volunteers who truly made the evening an event to remember.
