Is your organization an American Heart Association-recognized Fit-Friendly Worksite? Applications for the nationwide Fit-Friendly program are due November 1 through www.heart.org/fitfriendlyworksites/. The next opportunity to apply is January 1-April 1, 2016.
The free Fit-Friendly program recognizes companies that champion the health of their employees and work to create a culture of physical activity and wellness in the workplace. Worksites can apply on an annual basis for basic Gold level recognition and/or advanced Platinum level recognition.
In addition, worksites can apply annually for the unique “Innovation” award. These are awarded to worksites that creatively implement programs to promote physical activity in the workplace and/or community.
Only worksites with 25 or more employees are eligible for Fit-Friendly recognition.
Already working for a company that is recognized as Fit-Friendly Worksite? Recognition is valid for one year and worksites must renew annually, by April 1 or November 1.
