Immanuel, through its subsidiaries Immanuel Communities and Immanuel Pathways, serves the needs of older adults through housing, assisted living, memory support, and community-based services through its five campuses in Omaha, Papillion and Lincoln.  In January of 2012, Immanuel launched Immanuel Pathways in Council Bluffs, Iowa to provide home-based care alternatives to adults who would otherwise require institutional care.

In 1996, Immanuel and Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) joined their two health systems together under an arrangement that created Alegent Health.  Catholic Health Initiatives committed Bergan Mercy and its affiliates and Immanuel committed Immanuel Medical Center and its affiliates, and the two sponsors have continued to work together along with Alegent in a true collaboration ever since.

Today, the Board of Directors of Immanuel has ta another bold step as it looks to its future while staying true to its mission. The Board will send to Catholic Health Initiatives a Letter of Intent (LOI), which is the first step in the process of transferring Immanuel’s property interest in Immanuel Medical Center  to CHI. Catholic Health Initiatives will continue its sponsorship of Alegent while  the transition will allow Immanuel to explore new opportunities to serve the needs of the community.
