The Lincoln Chapter of American Marketing Association is presenting its seventh annual marketing training for nonprofits. Cause Camp 2011 is a ¾-day event on Friday, January 28, 2011, from 7:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Embassy Suites, 10th & P in Lincoln, Neb.

The event will feature seminars on immediate steps nonprofit staff and volunteers can take to improve their marketing.

This year’s training will include event marketing strategies and tactics, creating printed pieces on a shoestring budget, advocacy tips, preparing for a capital campaign and specific tactics for boosting a social media presence.

Attendees will have the opportunity to hear keynote luncheon speaker John Haydon of Inbound Zombie, a social media consulting firm for nonprofits out of Cambridge, Mass. Haydon will provide immediate, actionable social media tasks nonprofits can perform to boost awareness, increase donations and amplify engagement.

Cost to attend is $50 for AMA members and $60 for nonmembers. Because the event offers trainings to varying levels of expertise, additional attendees from the same organization may attend for $35 each. Some scholarships are available.
