Another Habitat home is going up in Lincoln and the local Habitat affiliate is constructing new walls with new volunteer partnerships.  On Saturday, Sept. 10 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., volunteers from Coca-Cola and Lincoln Hy-Vee Stores participated in their first of three volunteer workdays on the home located at 4935 Myrtle Street.

This site is of particular importance because Habitat has designated this home as their “Partnership Build.” This home is made possible solely because of the close cooperation between Hy-Vee and Coca-Cola as well as a few others, including H&R Block and Lincoln’s Channel 10/11 News who are also co-sponsoring this build.

The Partnership Build began as a way to let local businesses co-sponsor a build with Habitat for Humanity through volunteering, providing food for the volunteer workers, and donating money, materials and tools.  In return, Habitat hopes to educate volunteers and residents of the community on the issues of poverty housing.
