LUX Center for the Arts presents “Raising Expectations”

LUX Center for the Arts presents “Raising Expectations” curated by University of Iowa jewelry professor Kee-Ho Yeun, open June 3 and runs through July 30.  , Kee-Ho Yeun selected an eclectic mix of functional and sculptural metal pieces made by members of the Iowa Metals Guild.  This show explores contemporary and traditional technologies and materials, ranging from advanced 3-D computer modeling to traditional metal fabrications and enameling.  Rivers Metal Products, Inc is sponsoring the exhibition.

“Private Property” by Nebraska artist Patricia Scarborough continues through June 25.   Scarborough uses oil pastels and paint to create expressive renditions of local scenes.

LUX Center for the Arts is free and open to the public. Hours: Tuesday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  First Friday of each month, 11a.m. to 8 p.m.  Free parking is available on the west side of the building located in historic University Place at 2601 N. 48th Street.
