NBC Bancshares, the holding company for Nebraska Bank of Commerce (NBC), announced that it has raised over $9 million in a private placement equity fundraiser completed on December 15, 2010. Commerce Street Capital LLC, a Dallas based investment banking firm that specializes in assisting community banks nationwide, acted as financial advisor to the bank in the offering. This financing round brings more than 200 new unique shareholders to NBC Bancshares, predominantly from the Nebraska community.

On the heels of the capital infusion, NBC also announced that it will open a new downtown Lincoln branch location this Spring. The downtown branch will be located at the corner of 14th and Q Streets, adjacent to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus, and in a prime location to serve the Lincoln downtown business community.  A full-service banking location, the downtown branch will be Nebraska Bank of Commerce’s second location in addition to the main bank office at 6000 Village Drive in Lincoln.  The opening date of the downtown Lincoln branch is scheduled for April 2011.
