Bright Lights Summer Learning Adventures welcomed 2,392 registrants this summer during their 28th season, exceeding all previous single year’s enrollment.

The Bright Lights program gives students a chance to pursue in-depth their subject of interest and throughout the week they explore various aspects of the topic. Students this year took classes covering many different subjects in literature, science, technology and art.

Lincoln area students aren’t the only ones who benefitted from Bright Lights half-day classes and full-day camps this summer. Students also attended from outlying Nebraska communities, states as close as Iowa and as far away as New York, and internationally from Japan and Europe.

As in past years Bright Lights was able to form community partnerships to enhance the learning experiences. Career minded classes were held at higher education campuses, University of Nebraska Lincoln, Southeast Community College and Union College.

Planning will now begin for summer 2015. See www.brightlights.org for more information about the Bright Lights program.
