CEDARS Seeks Community Partners to Brighten the Holidays for Children

Year after year, businesses and individuals in the Lincoln community have opened their hearts to make the holidays a magical time for the children and youth in CEDARS (www.cedars-kids.org) care.

For the 300 children who will spend their nights with CEDARS over this season, the holidays can be a tough time. When these children come to CEDARS, it is often because they have no other safe place to go. Many of them come with just the clothing on their backs. And for many, this is the first time they have spent the holidays away from their homes. Throughout the month, CEDARS will be collecting toys, clothes and other gifts for the children. For the 1,200 children who rely on CEDARS for daily support, this holiday season will retain all of the wonder and gain even more magic.

Thanks to so many generous donations, each child in CEDARS care receives a gift for the holidays. These donations send such a strong, positive message to the children. Oftentimes, their lives are filled with chaos and disappointment, but these gifts show them that someone really cares for them. Anyone interested in becoming a CEDARS community partner by adopting an entire family or hosting a drive to #GiveJoy to children for the holidays is encouraged to contact Tracy Christensen at (402) 437-8820 or tchristensen@cedars-kids.org.

CEDARS will be thanking the many community partners and donors who #GiveJoy on social media. Supporters are encouraged to follow along on Facebook (www.facebook.com/cedarskids), Twitter (www.twitter.com/cedarskids) and Instagram (www.instagram.com/cedarskids).
