Home Builders Make Wooden Toys, Give Back

For the 29th year, the Home Builders Association of Lincoln (HBAL) built wooden toys for children in need. The toys were donated to the Lincoln Police Union’s Santa Cop project through the Center for People in Need. This year’s project was 70 sets of stacking blocks.

More than 100 members of the association and their children attended the event which took place Saturday, November 11 at Lincoln Northeast High School. All toys for this project go to children who might not otherwise receive a gift.

HBAL’s annual Santa Cop Project is just one of the many ways its members give back to the community. In October, HBAL held its 10th Annual Sporting Clay Shoot at Oak Creek Sporting Club near Brainard, NE. The event raised over $6,700 for the Lincoln Home Builders Care Foundation.

The Lincoln Home Builders Care Foundation’s mission is to support the educational and charitable activities of the Home Builders Association of Lincoln. The Foundation contributes to community service projects focused on housing, as well as providing scholarships for students pursuing careers related to the building industry and providing funding for other industry related educational and research programs. Since 2010, the Lincoln Home Builders Care Foundation has distributed over $137,000 through its community projects and scholarship program.
