Ribbon Cutting Marks Opening of Habitat for Humanity of Lincoln’s New Headquarters

Habitat for Humanity of Lincoln (www.lincolnhabitat.org) recently celebrated the opening of its new administrative offices located at 4615 Orchard St. with a Chamber ribbon cutting, followed by tours of the new space and a celebratory cake donated by Sam’s Club.

Attendees included City Councilman Carl Eskridge, Lincoln Chamber members, Habitat for Humanity of Lincoln Board members, staff, construction crew, and Habitat homeowners.

“We are excited about the opportunities our new office provides,” says Josh Hanshaw, executive director of Habitat Lincoln. “It allows staff to operate more efficiently and effectively as a team. We also see the future possibilities of growing our impact, including expanding homeowner education and training, and ultimately serving more families in need of decent shelter.”

The new office, which is located next to the Habitat Lincoln ReStore, was built by Habitat Lincoln, its regular volunteer construction crew and community volunteer groups. Additional build support includes: Union Bank & Trust; Harold & Judeth Hoppe; City of Lincoln; Goetz Foundation Coating; Judson Irrigation; Maria Swanson; Pioneer Overhead Doors; Ray’s Lawn & Landscape; Jon Wiles, BVH Architects and member of Habitat for Humanity of Lincoln Board of Directors; and the Habitat Lincoln Relocation Task Force Board Committee.
