TeamMates, a local school-based mentoring program, have announced they are seeking volunteers for the 2013-2014 school year.  During 2012-2013, more than 1,055 students were served; however, there are still more than 500 students who would better thrive in school if they had a mentor. Mentors meet with their student one hour, once a week during the academic year at the child’s school.  Summer break is an ideal time to become a TeamMates partner and to encourage your employees to mentor.  Becoming a mentor is easy, as it takes about 10 minutes to complete an application and give permission for a background check. New mentors will be able to complete their two-hour training before school re-starts in the fall and be set to meet their student. Partnering with Lincoln TeamMates offers another opportunity for your business to make a positive impact on the future of Lincoln and a difference in the lives of Lincoln youth.

The mission of TeamMates is to positively impact the world by inspiring youth to reach their full potential.
