The Food Bank of Lincoln’s Annual Check Out Hunger campaign will again run from November 1st through December 31st.  Area shoppers can help provide nutritious meals for hungry people in Southeast Nebraska with Check Out Hunger.  Thirty-six area grocery stores and convenience stores are displaying the Check Out Hunger place cards in their checkout aisles.  Shoppers can peel off a coupon and hand it to the checker.  Donations in the amounts of $1, $5 and $10 are then added to the bill electronically and printed on the cash receipt.

The funds raised will be used by the Food Bank to purchase their most needed items.  The Food Bank serves 65 agencies that help low-income people in 16 counties in Southeast Nebraska, including Lincoln and Lancaster County.

Check Out Hunger coupons are available at check stands in Lincoln at: “A” Street Market, Akins Natural Foods, HyVee MainStreet, Lincoln HyVee stores, Ideal Grocery, IGA Market Place, Leon’s Gourmet Grocery, Open Harvest, Russ’s Markets, Save Best, Save-Mart, Super Saver stores, Village Market and Wal-mart stores.
