Youth for Christ Expands Juvenile Justice Ministry Program

Youth for Christ Lincoln Area (yfclincoln.org) is excited to announce it recently expanded its Juvenile Justice Ministry (JJM) program to serve teens incarcerated at the Nebraska Correctional Youth Facility in Omaha. Kyle Lindgren is now serving as the chaplain at this facility.

After working for years on Youth for Christ’s Parent Life team (which ministers to pregnant and parenting teens) and teaching within the Lancaster County Youth Services Center in Lincoln, Lindgren felt led to move into JJM full-time.

“When I walk through correctional facilities, I don’t see guards and inmates; I see those who are free and those who are not. I go to set teens free. I get to talk with young men who are literally at the end of the line. Few illusions of what happens next are left; it helps keep the conversations real,” said Lindgren.

Lindgren graduated from the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services training program in October. Youth for Christ is thrilled to send Lindgren to preach hope to the hopeless in the juvenile detention centers.

Youth for Christ Lincoln Area (yfclincoln.org) is a non-denominational, non-judgemental, non-profit organization serving youth in the Lincoln community and surrounding areas.
