Cornhusker Bank Announces Promotion of Matt Brase, Welcomes Heather Smedra

Cornhusker Bank (www.cornhuskerbank.com) is pleased to announce the promotion of Matt Brase to Assistant Vice President Financial Operations Officer and the addition of Heather Smedra, Compliance Officer, to its staff.

Mr. Brase joined Cornhusker Bank in 2006 and has been promoted through various positions from Teller to his most recent position as Financial Analyst II. Matt has been responsible for various reporting processes, creation of pro formas and historic financial statements, regulatory reporting and treasury duties. “Matt is well organized and is a resourceful professional with exceptional critical thinking skills, who builds cohesive, productive teams while managing multiple priorities in a detail oriented environment,” according to Barry Lockard, President, CEO.

Matt holds an MBA in Accounting from Bellevue University, a BA in Leadership, and a BS in Computer Information Systems. He is also a Graduate of the Wisconsin School of Banking, and has certifications in the CPA Exam, CMA Exam and CTP Exam. He has served as Director of Finance/Treasurer for Voice for Companion Animals, is a Young Bankers of Nebraska member, and is a former winner of the “Golden Apple Award of Excellence,” which is a top honor for associates, presented to one staff member a year.

Heather is located in Cornhusker Bank’s new premier Bank Center at 8310 O Street. She is a member of the Adams Elementary PTO Board and currently serves as the Board Treasurer.
