First National Bank’s Richard Herink Honored with Citizenship Award

Richard Herink received the Burnham Yates Citizenship Award from the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce during the Chamber’s annual Celebrate Business Awards luncheon on August 29. The award acknowledges a local corporate leader for business and charitable contributions to the city, making it possible for Lincoln to continue to grow and prosper.

Herink, who has been in the banking industry in Nebraska for over 40 years, served as Lincoln Market President for First National Bank (www.firstnational.com) from 2000 until earlier this year. He continues to serve First National Bank as market executive, along with his current role as chairman of the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Herink is past chair of the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce and currently serves as board chair of CHI Health Nebraska. An active volunteer in the Lincoln community, Herink has held leadership roles with several organizations, including Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital, United Way of Lincoln, Lincoln Symphony Orchestra, Lincoln Public Schools Foundation, and the Lied Center Board.
