Kate Ellingson recently accepted a new position as the Manager of Marketing and Public Relations for the State of Nebraska Department of Economic Development, officially beginning her new career on April 28th.  Kate was most recently the Manager of Marketing and Media Relations at the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce and also the Program Director for Lincoln Specialty Care, a Chamber healthcare program.  Born and raised in Washington state, she moved to Lincoln several years ago to be a television reporter and co-anchor for KOLN TV channel 10/11. During her free time she’s been a Lincoln contributor for Silicon Prairie News, Her View From Home blog and her personal Nebraska travel blog, LoveNebraska.com. Kate is a board member of Go Lincoln Go and the Capitol Beach Community Association.

In her new position, Kate will be responsible for creating a comprehensive marketing and communications plan for the Department of Economic Development. The Department has programs for new business recruitment, innovation, international business, existing business assistance, housing, and community economic development.
