Robert Feit Rejoins SCC Board of Governors, Fills Vacant Seat

Robert J. Feit, who resigned his post on the Southeast Community College (www.southeast.edu) Board of Governors last May, was appointed by the Board to fill the unexpired term of Helen Griffin, who resigned her District 5 seat on the BOG last December due to health reasons.

Feit, who moved from Pickrell, which is in District 1, into the area of Lincoln that comprises District 5 last year, was officially sworn in at the Board’s March 15 meeting in Beatrice. Feit’s term ends Jan. 4, 2017.

Prior to last May, Feit had served on SCC’s Board of Governors since November 1997, when he was appointed to fill a seat. He successfully ran and was elected to the Board four times. Feit served as Board chairperson and was a part of several Board teams throughout his time.

Feit also got heavily involved in the Association of Community College Trustees. He was ACCT’s Western Region chair and served as a Board member and former chair of the Nebraska Community College Association. He received the NCCA’s Distinguished Alumni Award and the Distinguished Alumni Award presented by SCC’s Beatrice Campus.

He is a U.S. Navy and Vietnam veteran and is a graduate of Fairbury Junior College and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
