Congratulations to Ron Petsch, chair of SCC’s Building Construction Technology program, upon receiving the Patriot Award from Col. Keith Schell, chief of staff for the Nebraska Air National Guard. The award was presented on Jan. 6 at the Milford Campus. Loran Stara, Building Construction instructor and Nebraska National Guard Staff Sergeant, nominated Petsch for this award, presented by the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve to supervisors of Guard and Reserve members of the military who are being deployed or who have shown support in other ways to military members. The award demonstrates the exceptional support a supervisor has given to his employee. Other ESGR representatives present to help honor Petsch were Bill Nelson, program support technician for the state of Nebraska; Richard Burch, employment coordinator for the state of Nebraska; and Peggy Brown, administrative support technician with the ESGR for the state of Nebraska.

The mission of SCC’s Building Construction Technology program is to provide comprehensive training in the field of construction, taught through the means of hands-on training applications with accompanying lecture, with the intent to provide the most up-to-date vocational/technical construction training available in a community college.  For more information about this program or the other programs of study offered at Southeast Community College, visit www.southeast.edu.
