Tabitha (www.tabitha.org), your answer for Elder Care, is pleased to announce Angie Cardwell, APRN-NP, director of Tabitha’s employee health and wellness, has been named Medical Provider of the Year from the Nebraska Nursing Facility Association (NNFA). The award was presented to Cardwell at the association’s Fall Convention in La Vista, Neb., in recognition of her dedication to improving quality of life and wellness.

“The wellbeing of Elders we serve depends on the wellbeing of our team,” said Christie Hinrichs, Tabitha president and CEO. “Angie understands the importance and develops an invaluable connection with our employees to ensure it. She has helped create meaningful programs and an overall culture of wellness at Tabitha. She couldn’t be more deserving of this award.”

For over 10 years, Cardwell has been managing Tabitha’s employee wellness program that encompasses a free health clinic for employees and their families for treating common acute and chronic conditions. In addition to the 2,700 examinations she performs each year, she has led employee flu shot clinics, annual employee vitals monitoring, and a wellness program that encourages Tabitha team members to live in full health balance. In 2014, her program received recognition from the Governor’s Excellence in Wellness.
