Tabitha Health Care Services—celebrating 125 years—is proud to announce that Susie Brown was presented the 2010 Employee of the Year at Tabitha’s “Night of 1000 Stars” Employee Recognition. Brown coordinates the volunteer distribution for Tabitha Meals on Wheels, a community service provided for over 40 years. Tabitha began Meals on Wheels in 1967, delivering to 11 individuals at that time. Today, Tabitha provides more than 360 meals daily to Lincoln individuals who are homebound or recovering from injury or illness. Tabitha Meals on Wheels relies on 800 volunteers each month.
The love and commitment Brown has for her job shines through when she drives a meal to a client that missed his or her meal, offers inspiration with presentations about Tabitha Meals on Wheels and hugs and thanks volunteers on a daily basis. She shows compassion for clients and has increased this program’s vitality.
Applications are being accepted for volunteers to deliver meals.
