A dozen teams and 45 companies have earned recognition awards for their efforts in the recently-completed Live Healthy Nebraska 100-Day Challenge.  More than 8,000 Nebraskans participated, losing 34,610 pounds and accumulating over 25 million activity minutes.  A total of 134 Nebraska-based companies made the Challenge available to their employees.

The Fat Boyz, a team from Reinke Mfg. in Deshler, won the overall weight-loss title with a whopping 11.3% team weight reduction.  Two Omaha teams, the Tigs from PayPal and the Waist Watchers from Children’s Hospital finished 2nd and 3rd overall with reductions of 10.2% and 10.18% respectively.

Overall activity champs were the Happy Hikers, a Lincoln team from the State of Nebraska, whose members averaged more than 27,500 activity minutes.  Another Lincoln team, To Much To Do, took second with the Chub Busters, an independent team from Humphrey coming in 3rd.

The Live Healthy Nebraska 100-Day Challenge began Jan. 20 and concluded April 29.  Live Healthy Nebraska is an initiative of the Nebraska Sports Council.  Platinum partners include BlueCross BlueShield of Nebraska, Anderson Auto Group and BNSF Railways.
