How long have you been in Lincoln? – We’ve been serving clients in Lincoln and surrounding areas since 2008.

Who are the owners/important executives? – Troy Bridgford, Jo Wendt, Chris Kyhn, and Jeff Wolgamott.

What do you like about doing business in Lincoln? – We appreciate the fact that it is a big city that feels like a small town, and when you turn out a quality product, the word spreads without much effort. It is also easy to form relationships with other business owners and help each other to improve and expand our businesses.

What kind of community organizations/groups are you involved with? – We are proud to be involved with LIBA, the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce, Dimensions Educational Research Foundation, The Big Red Challenge and Junior Achievement.

Do you have a business philosophy or mission statement? – Ironhide Construction has built a reputation throughout the Midwest for providing quality buildings and genuine service at a reasonable price. From the design phase to the final punch list, we pride ourselves on providing expert advice, skilled craftsmanship, and top-notch construction management. Customer satisfaction has built our company into what it is today. We provide our clients with open, honest advice followed by quality construction to meet their needs.

What changes have you seen in the industry and your company in the past few years? – In our industry, there has been a significant influx of business in all aspects of construction. In turn, unfortunately, there has been a shortage of qualified employees. As for our company, we have spent the last couple years hiring and surrounding ourselves with “above and beyond” people to lead our company into the future. By investing in these individuals we have seen dramatic growth in our business and feel comfortable and excited about what the next few years have to offer.

What was the biggest turning point in your business? – Similarly, the biggest turning point in our company was when we started to hire more experienced project managers/estimators and also experienced superintendents/field staff. By adding these individuals to our team, it has allowed us to increase our productivity and enabled us to take on more work that in the past we would have had to pass on. This has not only grown our company but also improved our quality of craftsmanship at the same time.

What has been your most important achievement as a business? – Growing from a two-person company that struggled to stay busy to where we are today. Also creating a reputation that makes our clients think about us first, and in many situations being the only company that provides the service needed. Having a client come to you because they trust and feel comfortable doing business with you is a major achievement in itself.

What do you see happening with the business in the next five years? – We plan to continue to grow at a manageable rate with both new and repeat clientele. We also intend to expand our specialty services that we have found a market for with our clients. The general contracting side of our company is where we see the majority of our workload heading. Providing our clients a turn-key product from start to finish and also focusing on cultivating relationships with our clients who just need tenant spaces built out is what we see the next five years consisting of for Ironhide Construction.
