Aqua Systems has been helping people improve their water since 1959. They are a water treatment company that specializes in water softeners, drinking water systems, water purification, problem water solutions and large scale water solutions for business and industry. They provide service to South East Nebraska and are part of a national company that has over 300 dealers nationwide.
How long have you been in Lincoln?
I have been in the water treatment business in Lincoln since 1994. Prior to that I was a loan officer for National Bank of Commerce for six years.

Jeff and Kris White, owners.

Do you have a business philosophy or mission statement?

What changes have you seen in the industry and your company in the past few years?
The internet has made it easier for people to research. People no longer have time to sit through several two to three hour presentations with several water treatment companies. We have embraced the internet and encourage people to do there research not only on our company but encourage them to shop our competitors. We want people to make an educated decision, not a decision based on high pressure sales tactics. When you decide to do business with Aqua Systems it will be an enjoyable experience, not one of regret.
What do you see happening with the business in the next five years?
Technology will continue to evolve for treating hard water. Currently the most effective way to remove hardness is with a water softener that uses salt. There are salt free technologies today, however, they are not as effective as traditional water softeners.
What is one of the biggest challenges that your company has faced?
I think the downturn in the building industry drastically affected my business as well as many others. It forces you to really look at expenses and overhead.
What has been your most important achievement as a business?
We won the Better Business Bureau Integrity Award in 2007. A big testament to our business philosophy and employees.
What was the biggest turning point in your business?
Changing the name of our company and embracing the Aqua Systems format. Having no commissioned sales people, our pricing on line and preprinted price lists has made it so much easier for people to do business with us and feel more comfortable about there decision.
What is the most unique or interesting thing about your business that most people don’t know?
Aqua Systems is a national company.
