When we heard Texas T-Bone Steakhouse was opening its first Lincoln restaurant, and in the ideal space at 70th & O Street no less, we were excited to see how it would measure up to our admittedly high expectations based on the fact that the locally owned and operated restaurant is famous for “steaks and salads done right.”

It was really nice to walk back into familiar surroundings but with a fresh new twist. The atmosphere is still exactly what you’d expect from a steakhouse – rustic, charming, and comfortable. Our server, who greeted us right away, was quite knowledgeable about the menu and able to make really great recommendations. To start the meal, we enjoyed fresh baked yeast rolls served with cinnamon honey butter along with cracking a few peanuts open.

Upon perusing the menu the first thing you’ll notice is the incredible selection of offerings. From the USDA Choice premium steaks available there are both bone-in and boneless choices as well as options to customize the size of the boneless steaks. For example, along with several different types of top sirloins to choose from beginning at 15oz, you have the option to make the steak bigger or smaller. There are also great choices aside from steak, namely the house-favorite aged prime rib that’s carved to order, St. Louis style bar-b-que ribs, chicken and seafood entrees, other classic steakhouse favorites such as chicken fried steak and “Road Kill”, or seven different varieties of stuffed 1lb burgers.

With any entrée you get to create your own salad, and along with being a very generous portion size, there are over 20 different “throw-ins”, or fresh ingredients, to choose from. Ordering is as easy as filling out the form at the table so you have all of the options right in front of you without having to ask the server to list them, which is definitely nice. As if all of this isn’t already amazing, they are served in a stainless steel bowl so that the salad stays chilled!

We had the pleasure of dining at Texas T-Bone Steakhouse on a Wednesday evening, so not only did we get to peruse a menu full of delicious possibilities, we also had the option of the special – a 15oz ribeye with the choice of having it smothered with onions and mushrooms or a side of golden fried shrimp, choice of side (great options here too – we highly recommend the hash browns with cheese or the mesquite smoked beans with beef), and of course the create your own salad. One person in our party ordered the special, while the others ordered the prime rib and the T-Bone (because it’s a must when you’re dining at Texas T-Bone Steakhouse!). Everything about all three of our meals was worth raving about; the cuts of meat were hearty, the flavor was exceptional and they were cooked perfectly as ordered. For dessert, we picked out the “After Dinner Mint” and “Brandy Alexander” from a selection of specialty ice cream drinks and it was the perfect sweet treat to end the meal.

We enjoyed great service throughout our entire visit and with the presentation, portion size, and quality of our meals being equally impressive we had absolutely no complaints whatsoever. Texas T-Bone Steakhouse is indeed everything it claims to be in its motto: “The Place for Premium Steaks.” Above all it’s a truly authentic steakhouse delivering its guests incredible value and variety!
