Barb Johnson was a client at Diet Center off and on for ten years and loved their approach to lasting weight loss.  When she was approached about purchasing the business, she thought this was the perfect way to help her keep her weight off and help others become healthier, too.  Diet Center is a weight loss center, helping people lose weight to look better, and for better health. They are here to bring more and more people to a healthy life style with four unique programs that would fit each ones needs.  No matter if they like to cook or busy and on the go, the programs can work for them.

Tell us a little about your family.
I have been married to my husband Brian for 31 years. We have one daughter, Becky, who is married to Nick and they have our granddaughter Kinzie (2) and # 2 on the way. We also have two sons, David and spouse Chelsea, and grandchildren, Tristan (4) and Layla (2) and Paul and his girlfriend Amy.

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life?
Becoming a grandparent. I love those babies. And buying Diet Center.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off?
Of course I love spending time with the grandkids, but I also enjoy spending the day with my friends or my daughter shopping and going to lunch, it makes it a day of play.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know?
I took swimming lessons and learned how to breathe correctly in the water.  I am also going to take sewing lessons.  I know how to do these things, I just wanted to improve.

What are you the most proud of?
I am so proud of my family and what they have done with their lives.  I am also proud of myself, for losing over 50 lbs. Without that accomplishment, I would not be doing this.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
For the diet process: take each day one at a time, and if that is too much, break it down to minute by minute or hour by hour, whatever it takes to make it through.

What is the one goal you would most like to accomplish?
To make my business a success so that I can do all the things I want to do.  Also to keep my weight off.

What is your greatest talent that you don’t utilize in your daily work life?
I think my greatest talent is a relationship builder and making friends. I build relationships with my husband, children and grandchildren other relatives and friends.

Which talent would you most like to have?
I wish I had some artistic ability. And I wish I could carry a tune.  I would love to sing.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I wish I would have gotten a 4 year degree.

What is your favorite book or the last good book you read?
I listen to books, and I loved The Help. And any Janet Evanovich book.

What is your favorite movie?
I like The American President or Date Night.

What is your favorite TV show?
Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice, Desperate Housewives and Blue Bloods.

What is your favorite Lincoln restaurant?
Lazlos and Ruby Tuesday.

If you could have dinner with one person from the past or present, who would it be?
I would like to have dinner with my Dad and my family. I would love for him to meet his great grandchildren and see Becky, David and Paul and what they have grown up to be. He would be so proud.
