Tell us a little about your business.

We offer a full range of services including memory care, post-stroke and cardiac rehabilitation, post-surgical recovery, and orthopedic care for injuries and fractures, as well as speech, physical and occupational therapies. Along with the clinical services we provide, our residents enjoy the Husker lounge room, movie theater, bistro café, and beautiful courtyard. We truly are dedicated to enhancing the quality of life of the patients and residents we serve.

How did you get started in the business?

I began my career at Lancaster Rehab in August of 2010 working various shifts as a float nurse until January 2017 when I accepted my current position.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally?

Realizing that I cannot please everyone.

Tell us a little about your family.

My husband Cuyler is a caseworker at the State Penitentiary and is currently working on his Master’s degree in Human Services. We have 3 children and love camping, fishing, playing in the backyard, and Friday night ‘movie nights.’ We spend the majority of our time together at the kids’ activities, some of our favorites being baseball, basketball, and gymnastics.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off?

Coffee and then manicures with my mom and sisters. There is never a dull moment when the four of us get together.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know?

Most people would never guess it, but I love to hunt and fish. I recently had the opportunity to deer hunt with my husband and father-in-law. With a little help (and a whole lot of patience) from my husband, I brought home a pretty nice white tail deer!

What are you the most proud of?

Seeing my kids express empathy, compassion and kindness towards others.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

Do what is right, do the best job you can, and treat others the way you want them to treat you.

If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be?

Genuine.

If you had a theme song, what would it be?

Firework by Katy Perry.

If you could have a super power, what would it be?

Space-time manipulation!

If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be?

There is no question; I would be a Crime Scene Investigator. It seems so thrilling, and just like all the CSI’s on TV, I’d have each and every case solved before I went home for the night!

What is your favorite movie?

Catch and Release.

What is your favorite TV show?

Law and Order: Special Victims Unit is my all time favorite show, but lately I’ve been binge watching New Girl. Zooey Deschanel’s character (Jess) is hilarious and so relatable to me.

What is your favorite local restaurant?

Dino’s Eastside Grille; the Margherita Calzone is amazing!

If you could have dinner with one famous person from the past or present, who would it be?

Ellen DeGeneres.
