Before Diana Weiser started her own business, she worked for a manager who gave her a hard time for “caring too much for the customers”.  This led her to open her first consignment shop in Kansas in 1988, but sold the business when her husband needed to move for his job.  At each location they moved, she started a consignment shop: in Chanute, KS, Champaign, IL and now in Lincoln, where she recently opened Crazy 4 Consignment.  Diana is passionate about her business and takes great pride in showcasing unique items.  She is currently accepting the finest pre-owned, seasonal, and up-to-date ladies fashions and accessories, décor accents, and small furnishings.  At this time, she is accepting spring fashions.  Consigners receive 40% of the sale price on clothing and accessories, and 50% on décor and furniture.

Tell us a little about your family. – My husband works for the Natural Resources Conservation Service and I have three children: Clay, age 33, is a billing supervisor for HNTB Engineering in Kansas City; Britney, age 23, is finishing her final year at K-State and will graduate with a Masters in Architecture and Jamie, age 21, is in her first year of optometry school in St. Louis.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – Go through open houses.  In Champaign, I think I sold more houses than the realtors!  All I had to do was walk through the open house and comment on how wonderful it was and the realtor would get offers that day!  Realtors started calling me up asking if I was coming to their open house!

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – I enjoy molding Rice Krispie cakes into unique themed items for special occasions.

What are you the most proud of? – My kids of course.  In turn, they are proud of me for providing them an example that it is never too late in life to pursue your dreams again.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – My son told me to do it my way.

If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? – I am creative – I think outside the box.  In my current job, I like explaining to ladies how they can “repurpose” various items.

Which talent would you most like to have? – Whistling.  I saw a professional whistler when I was in high school and I was in awe of his talent.

If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be? – Open a unique family-style restaurant.

What is your favorite movie? – The Notebook

What is your favorite TV show? – The HGTV networks lineup.

What is your favorite local restaurant? – Phat Jacks – the burnt ends are yummy!

If you could have dinner with one famous person from the past or present, who would it be? – Jackie Onassis – I would love to have her as one of my consigners!
