Tell us a little about your business.

At GP Customs, I specialize in window tinting, clear bra application, ceramic coating, and wraps. The business as a whole does lift kits, wheels and tires, car audio, mobile video, remote car starters, backup cameras and the list goes on. We have some of the industry’s best professionals and work on some of the coolest projects in the Midwest. The ability for a customer to get a car upgraded to manufacturer’s specifications under one roof is what sets us apart from many other shops. With our expertise in window tinting and vinyl lettering/wraps, we also offer a lot of commercial and residential services.

How did you get started in the business?

I met Robert Peinado (the owner of GP Customs) in 2010 when my dad was helping me look for my first job. My dad knew I had a passion for cars and had spoken with Robert previously about possibly letting me job shadow. My friendship with Robert grew from there and eventually he hired me part time. I now manage the shop.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally?

Time management. With so many unique and specialized projects we work on, it’s sometimes tough to manage the employees and get my own tasks completed in a timely fashion.

Tell us a little about your family.

My parents live here in Lincoln and I have two older brothers. One owns a masonry business in Omaha and the other is a soccer coach at the University of Alabama.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off?

I love going to the gym and pumping some iron.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know?

I love to ski and I am actually really good at it!

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

Challenge yourself every day with new goals, and for the goals you set, make sure to exceed every one of them. Some you will achieve and others you may fail, but let the failures you experience serve as a learning curve to and help you approach your future goals with better knowledge and perspective.
