Body Nouveaux Spa is Lincoln’s premier day spa located at 5600 S. 48th St. Suite #118. Haley Axtell is the Head Esthetician at Body Nouveaux Spa (bodynouveauxspa.com).
Tell us a little about your business. – We offer facials, body waxing, chemical peels, massages, Slender Body Wraps and spray tanning with our own line of solution. I have been the Head Esthetician at Body Nouveaux Spa since June of 2013. I started out performing facials and body waxing but continued my training so that I could also provide chemical peels, spray tanning and Slender Body Wraps. I love speed waxing and educating my clients based on their skin concerns.
What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – Besides working on Saturdays and learning to spell esthetician, building a clientele was the biggest challenge that I’ve faced professionally. I had to find ways to differentiate myself and keep my clients coming back. After a lot of late nights, slow days and thousands of business cards handed out I’m happy to have grown an awesome clientele. I can’t thank my clients enough for their loyalty and referrals and Body Nouveaux’s owner, Ashley Pavlish, for believing in me!
What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – Right out of college, I was a business major working as an administrative assistant. It wasn’t the right ‘fit’ for me and I needed something different. I always had a passion for skin care industry because I struggled with my complexion growing up. After doing some research, becoming an esthetician seemed to be the perfect fit for me so I packed up my bags and moved to Lincoln to go to school. It was terrifying and exciting at the same time. It was a HUGE turning point in my life and I’m extremely thankful I did it.
Tell us a little about your family. – I grew up in a small town south of Kearney. My parents and siblings all live in the area still. I have three older brothers and a younger sister. My brothers are all married and have started families of their own. Being an aunt is my favorite title yet. I’m slightly obsessed with my nieces and nephews!
What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – My last name is Axtell and I’m from Axtell, NE. My family has no relation to the founders.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – “Be kind; everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.”
What is your favorite TV show? – Best Time Ever With Neil Patrick Harris.
