Loretta Goodwin was working as a paralegal when she began doing some part time work for Production Creek and noticed the company could really expand in Lincoln and offered to try her hand at sales.  She started full-time in 2005 and after continued growth and success in sales expansion, she was presented with the opportunity to take over half-ownership with Jessica Johnson when the previous owner retired.  She accepted the challenge and has loved working with people and the challenges the industry presents each day.  Production Creek Specialty Advertising offers in-house custom embroidery, screen-printing, specialty sewing and promotional products and has been in business since 1995.

Tell us a little about your family.
Eric is my best friend and we have been together for 10 years (married for 3) and we have a spoiled dog and cat. He has three brothers and I have three sisters, so we enjoy having a large family clan with all of our in-laws, nieces and nephews.

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life?
I originally planned to take the LSAT and go to law school after I completed my undergraduate degrees, but I decided to get my Masters in Business instead, which lead me to become more involved with Production Creek and ultimately enter into a business owner role.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off?
To do whatever I am missing most in my life at that moment, which could be spending time with my friends and family, anything outdoors, riding my bike, traveling, concerts, reading.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know?
I LOVE music and it helps get me through the day. My parents were in a blues band while we grew up and me and my sisters got to see so many shows with them and would sometimes even perform on stage as a family. I have seen at least 150 live concerts so far, starting at age 2 when my Dad took me with him to see the Kinks.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
One of my favorite quotes is: “With ordinary talent and extraordinary perseverance, all things are attainable.” -Thomas F. Buxton. My family has always encouraged me to take risks, because it’s okay to fail. If I don’t succeed at something the first time, I will keep trying until I get it.

What is the one goal you would most like to accomplish?
A personal goal is to complete the BRAN (Bicycle Ride Across Nebraska) which is a 7-day tour across the state and each year is a different route. Professionally, I am working to complete my Certified Advertising Specialist (CAS) which is the promotional products industry’s professional designation.

What is your favorite book or the last good book you read?
I recently finished two fiction series that I thought were really good. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and The Hunger Games.

What is your favorite movie?
Two classics that I love are Gone with the Wind and The Sound of Music.

What is your favorite TV show?
Modern Family-it is hilarious!

What is your favorite Lincoln restaurant?
Dish is the best, but if I want a low-key night with good food and drinks, you can find me at Patty’s Pub.

If you could have dinner with one famous person from the past or present, who would it be?
Chelsea Handler. Her books and show make me laugh out loud, so I know I’d be highly entertained.
