Manuel de la Torre began designing websites and printing materials and producing radio jingles at the age of 17 in Mexico, right after finishing high school.  He continued freelancing through college and, when he moved to the United States in 1998, began focusing on web design.  This led him to form his own company, Media Creations, which helps businesses and individuals accomplish their goals in the following areas: Website Design and Enhancement, Graphic Design, Photography, Audio Production and Video Production.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally?
Wearing the many hats that running your own business requires. Creative people are not necessarily the most organized of the bunch, so the administrative side of things requires extra discipline.

What has been your most important achievement professionally?
I would probably brag about the full development of a radio preparation services website based in Hollywood, CA. But on a personal level, I would have to say helping my wife grow and establish her music studio through several marketing and advertising products.

Tell us a little about your family.
I am married to Nissa de la Torre, and together we take care of three dogs: Chile, Pepillo, and Simón. My parents live in Central Mexico, and my two sisters live in Germany. I get to see my parents at least once a year. My sisters, not so often.

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life?
Having moved to the US after finishing college in Mexico.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off?
Vegging on the couch with my wife and three dogs, watching a good movie. Second favorite would be riding my motorcycle.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know?
I wasn’t born in Mexico.

What are you the most proud of?
My wife.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
To not pretend to know things when you don’t have a clue.

What is the one goal you would most like to accomplish?
To be a professional musician.

How would your friends describe you?
You’ll have to ask them, but I’d say silly most of the time, serious when needed.

What is your greatest talent that you don’t utilize in your daily work life?
Music.

Which talent would you most like to have?
To be a proficient music reader.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
Procrastination.

What is your favorite book or the last good book you read?
The Name of the Rose

What is your favorite movie?
So many to choose from! Probably not a favorite right now, but the one that I remember enjoying a lot through the years: Born in East L.A.

What is your favorite TV show?
I go through shows rather fast. Currently: Weeds.

What is your favorite Lincoln restaurant?
Blue Orchid

If you could have dinner with one famous person from the past or present, who would it be?
Even though I am not a strongly religious person, I think having dinner with Jesus would be definitely interesting. If he’s not available, then I’ll take Genghis Khan. And an interpreter.
