Matt Egge was always interested in the financial industry, and when his wife and he were meeting with an advisor, he asked about the opportunities available. As a client prior to joining Northwestern Mutual, he really enjoyed what they did for his family and felt the company would be a perfect fit for him. As a Financial Representative with Northwestern Mutual, he offers guidance and solutions to help families and businesses achieve financial security utilizing insurance products and investment services. He provides his clients with financial services that allow them to feel assured that their intentions have been understood and their needs are being addressed.
Tell us a little about your family.
I have been married to my wife Jaimie for 4 ½ years. We have a 3 year old son, Brayden, who brings us lots of joy. He is very energetic and loves to help me with things around the house, especially mowing the lawn. He is my little side-kick! We are also expecting a daughter the end of November that we are very excited about, minus the sleepless nights of course!!!
What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life?
I can think of many things that have been impactful in my life, but marrying Jaimie and starting a family together has been the biggest. They are what I look forward to everyday.
What is your favorite thing to do on a day off?
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. We are always busy it seems and to just hang out together is great.
What are you the most proud of?
My family!
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
I don’t know if you would call it advice, but my father instilled in me to always work hard. I am very proud of the work ethic that I have and my father to thank for that!
What is the one goal you would most like to accomplish?
I would love to jump out of a plane!!!
How would your friends describe you?
Loyal, thoughtful, self-motivated, and family oriented.
What is your greatest talent that you don’t utilize in your daily work life?
I have always enjoyed construction projects and normally only get to do those in my spare time, which is usually difficult to find.
Which talent would you most like to have?
To be able to dance so my wife quits making fun of me!!!
If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
Sometimes my strong work ethic gets the best of me and I have difficulty taking time off, letting loose, and having fun. While I love my job, it is important to take some time and really enjoy life and have fun.

The last book I read was The 12 Week Year.

If you could have dinner with one famous person from the past or present, who would it be?
My grandfather. I know he’s not considered famous, but he passed away before I was born and I would have loved to meet him.
