Tell us a little about your business. – Our mission is simple; to partner with each of our customers to protect their vehicle investments. It is our responsibility, as the experts, to be an automotive advocate by providing thorough inspections, quality information and the best solutions for maintaining and repairing your vehicle.

How did you get started in the business? – My love affair with cars began in high school.  The object of my affection: a beautiful, blue 1971 Chevy Nova Super Sport. I didn’t know it at the time, but my high school crush would turn into a lifelong passion and a great career.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – Back in the 80’s, women in the automotive repair business were relatively unheard of. So dealing with the gender boundary was frustrating at times. It took me a few years to learn that what I thought was an obstacle is what would eventually set me apart.

What has been your most important achievement professionally? – Opening inMOTION has been my biggest accomplishment…so far!

Tell us a little about your family. – I have been married to my very supportive husband and best friend, Ted for almost 25 years. We have one son, Chris who currently works with me at the shop as an advisor while he’s working on his Business Degree at Doane College.

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – Having a child. Parenthood puts life in perspective and allows you look at the world in a different light. I learned to appreciate the smallest of things and that not everything is a big deal, in fact few things are.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – My family loves the outdoors and fishing is on top of the let’s do list!

If you had a theme song, what would it be? – “It’s My Life” by Bon Jovi.

If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be? – Marketing and promotion.

If you could have a super power, what would it be? – Speed reading.

What is your favorite book or the last good book you read? – The Bible.

What is your favorite TV show? – The Big Bang Theory.

If you could have dinner with one famous person from the past or present, who would it be? – Jesus Christ.

If our readers would like to contact you, how should they do so? – I can be contacted at (402) 486-9880, via email at sherri@inmotionautocare.com, or at www.inmotionautocare.com.
